Dell Inspiron 5520 System BIOS

 5520A14.exe

From the Download/ Drivers page However as the update was running it got to the point where it shuts down the computer.

When the computer started to boot again I heard a click and it powered off, I left it alone, but it was simply powered off for a good half hour or so.

Now when I try to turn it on it will power up the Led buttons then after 3-4 seconds there is a click and everything powers down. 

The computer will not post. Is there a way to restore the Bios, or am I sol?

Hello everyone,

Long story short my laptop was stuck in an infinite POST loop so I ended up reinstalling Windows 7. However, unfortunately the following drivers are not installed on my system. I hope you can help me? :( Thank you so much

Dear all,

I got a dell inspiron 13 7000series laptop with windows 10.

Following an auto update, the laptop battery was not charging.

I could solve the issue by a system restore. So, it looks  that this is not due to a hardware problem.

Could anybody help me is getting a solution for this,

Good day.

I've been having a problem for the past few weeks. My laptop can't turn off completely. When the screen gets black the laptop cooler is still running. After that I can't turn the laptop on. I have to hold the power button for a few seconds that forces it to turn off completely and only after that I can turn it on again.

Recently I replaced my HDD to SDD (Samsung EVO 850) installed Windows 10 from scratch, updated BIOS and all the drivers to the latest versions (from dell website) but still have the same problem :(

I tried several pieces of advice: 1. Disabled USB power management feature that can turn off usb power for a while. 2. Turned off hibernation. 3. Tried different Intel Video drivers (Windows Default, from dell web site, the latest from Intel website).

No result.

Can you help me to discover the issue, please? I believe that this is a driver/BIOS problem. It probably happened after the latest BIOS update.

Can my SSD be killed by force turn off (the power button holding)?

Hello,

I am having a lot of issues with my new XPS 13. The computer is not going to sleep after having the laptop lid closed, it just burns through its power supply. I have checked all setting and it should not be doing this.

Also, I am having wake up issues sometimes when I close it and open it up again within a short frame of time, say, 5-10 minutes. The screen will remain black and I will have to restart the machine.

Is there a patch or driver I can install to resolve this? This is really frustrating from such a high-end machine, opening and closing should be the least of my concerns...

I recently purchase a Dell Laptop 15 3558, awesome deal touchscreen and many additions. Only thing it didnt have was a backlit keyboard, so I went and purchased a (refundable) non-Dell backlit keyboard on Amazon.

I know a backlit keyboard has 2 connections, one for data and one for the light. When I opened up my laptop the light connector had something plugged in (not sure what). I went ahead and disconnected it and plugged in my new non-dell backlit keyboard...here is what happened.

1- Key board lit up and worked.

2- Back lIght never shuts off, even when you shut down its always lit. (The Windows Mobility Center doesnt even have a keyboard light feature.)

3- Laptop will not restart unless I unplug and replug the laptop in again.

Any ideas whats going on ?

Lastly, Does Dell make a backlit keyboard that would be compatible?

I know someone who has a Inspiron 17R laptop and the letter A key came off the keyboard.

She talked to some tech guy who said there should be a peg it can be glued back to but there is no peg, just the key and some small plastic piece that also came loose.

How do these get fixed?

• I still have every warranty except POW but i cant seem to contact support. When i go and click contact technical support it states:
• "The product is out of warranty and is eligible for the following support options: Solve the problem yourself with our free and easy-to-use online tools. Troubleshoot and Fix an Issue Interactive Support Agent"
• Im confused because i seem to have warranty but on the tech support page its telling me that its out of warranty. Is there any way to fix this issue or other means for me to contact support? My 5 months old Dell XPS 15 was running low on battery and when I plugged in my charger I saw the message: "plugged in and not charging". I contacted Dell Support but I'm wondering if there is something I can do in the meantime?
I already tried to update my bios in the hope that would help but my battery is at 7% at this moment and Dell doesn't allow a bios update when battery percentage is below 10%.

can i use the charger of Dell E7240 to XPS 13 ? 

E7240 charger is PA 12 Family,  65W and output 19.5V 3.34 A 

XPS Charger is 45 W , PA-1450-66D1

Dear All,

I have a dell inspiron 15r 5521, Its showing system cannot identify battery and i just changed with friends which is working and error goes off. My present battery is 11.1V 65Wh, MR90Y, can i replace it with 14.8 Wh 40Wh, XCMRD? At least for some days? Or will it sh0rt cicuit my laptop? Please let me know.

I was getting a message saying my battery wasn't charging although I had it plugged in.  I thought it might be a floor so I just ignored it.  However, it became a nuisance when turning it on after hours of charging it was giving me the same message.  I read the fix on this but mine is a 1545 model.  Furthermore, now, when I tried to turn it back on again.  It came on for a couple of minutes then went dead.

The touchscreen on my Dell Inspiron 13 7368 stopped working, it happened twice before but now I can't fix it. I already tried disabling and enabling touchscreen in device manager and so for all USB Input Devices and uninstalling touchscreen and USB input device then restarting didn't help also tried calibrating but that didn't do a thing. 

Does anyone have any clue on what is the problem and how to fix?

Today the battery was getting low so I plugged in the laptop. As soon as I did that it shut off. I can't get it to turn back on, no lights come on and it doesn't even try to turn on. I noticed that when I plug the charger into the laptop the green light on my charger shuts off. If I unplug the charger from the wall and wait a few seconds then plug it back in the green light will come back on, but then turn off as soon as I plug it into my laptop. I've tried a known good charger on my laptop, same thing happens to it. I also tried my charger on a known good laptop and my charger works. I tried removing my battery and using only electrical power, still nothing. The charger voltages are all fine, the wall voltages are all fine, it's something with the laptop itself. Any input?

Hi there,

My laptop froze when I was working on it then seemed to crash. When I rebooted the dell logo appeared followed by a message:

Checking Media Presence........

No Media Presence........

It then takes me to a black desktop with the message 'No bootable devices' and a range of F button options - re-boot, setup, etc.

Can anyone help with this?
